We have determined that Ellijay Animal Hospital’s physical facility is not designed to accommodate the social distancing guidelines, therefore we will continue to see patients and clients by appointment only in the following ways:
Our practice will follow the federal guidelines which states that relaxing of social distancing and re-opening of businesses should not occur until there is a fourteen consecutive day decrease in new COVID-19 cases.
We appreciate your understanding as we try to keep our clients and personnel safe during this time.
- The doors to our facility will remain locked at all times. The only persons able to gain entry to our facility until further notice will team members and patients. Please remain in your vehicle, unless otherwise directed.
- Please call our office when you arrive at our facility.
- Please be available to answer your telephone so that our team can obtain a patient history and concerns for your pet visit.
- Our veterinarian will perform your pet’s exam, and prepare a treatment plan and recommendations. Our team will call to explain the doctor’s treatment plan and recommendations. Once a treatment plan has been approved, we will complete the treatment plan. A team member will collect payment at your car, or over the phone. After your transaction is complete we will bring your pet, prescriptions, prescription diets, and discharge information to your car.
- If you are in need of prescription refills, we ask you call ahead and give us 24 hour notice to prepare your order. We request that you do not arrive to pick your order up until you receive a call from our team that it is ready. We are doing our best to maintain a supply of medications depending on the shipments from our vendors.
- The need for surgeries and dental procedures will be determined by our veterinarian and scheduled based on urgency.
- We have discontinued our bathing services until further notice in order to focus more directly on medical care.
- We feel that it is important for family members to be with their beloved companion at the end of life. Euthanasia is a special circumstance and we will still open our facility for family members to be present during this difficult time, should it arise.
